Canadian Composer Bruce Mills
Composer Bruce Mills
Bruce Mills (ASCAP & SOCAN) is a strong, versatile Canadian composer and artist. His award-winning songs are new standards in jazz, blues and country / gospel, semi-classical, instrumental (film / television) and even seasonal and Celtic genres. His music is beautifully crafted with stunning lyrical content and melodies. Mills' music has been honoured by Billboard Magazine (Solitary Man), Paramount Entertainment (Heart's Reflection) and numerous song competitions including several Song of the Year, INSC and Goodnight Kiss (LA's wonderful Janet Fisher). Mills recently won a recording award from the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records (FACTOR, Toronto).
Bruce's commemorative veteran's song, Never Again, was recognized by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006.
"Enigmatic" describes this unusual talent. Bruce's music is definitive, yet indifferent to industry trends. He's a chameleon who mixes and creates genres. He writes what professionals are calling "new standards" to last lifetimes. People in 75 countries are listening. Mills' music is featured on media sources in Canada, the United States and Europe.
Norman James McCourt, director of AMMA writes, "Excellent songs on your CD ... we look forward to receiving more." Producer, Dennis Field says, "His music is quirky--but cool quirky ... an awesome and exceptional talent ... one of my top artists in the studio." Kenny Charles, VP at Allure Media in Los Angeles says, "I definitely hear a major talent in your wonderful songs ...you are ...an awesome songwriter." Debora Nortman at ABACA Records says, "I love, love, love your music."
Much of the Bruce Mills catalogue is recorded and produced by Dennis Field at Denmark Recording Studios. His Nashville work is produced by George McClure. Bruce currently records, performs and produces nearly all of his own music. A large section of the repertoire is available at Getty Images but we encourage direct inquiries from anyone at any time.
Bruce lives on the Atlantic coast with his Briard dog, Napoleon.
We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund) and of Canada's Private Radio Broadcasters.
